Statement from Mayor Barrow Applauding Ontario’s Announcement of Emergency Funding for Municipalities

We are thankful for the emergency funding the Ontario government announced today as part of federal-provincial Safe Restart Agreement. Richmond Hill will receive $4 million in Phase 1 municipal operating funding to help address financial pressures related to COVID-19, maintain critical services and protect our community. The Province has indicated additional funding will be available later this year.

RICHMOND HILL, August 12, 2020 – The City of Richmond Hill will conduct its first online vote for the upcoming York Region District School Board Trustee By-election. Online voting is a safe, secure and reliable voting method that has been used in many Ontario municipal elections.
Online voting for this By-election will be open from 10 a.m. on October 14, 2020 to 8 p.m. on October 19, 2020.

Notice of Bridge Closure: Headwaters Trail System

Please be advised a bridge in the Headwaters Trail System, west of Headwaters Community Park between Elgin Mills Road East and Redstone Road is closed for repairs. This work is necessary to replace the wood on the bridge and is expected to be complete by the end of November (weather permitting).
An alternate pedestrian route has been created to accommodate the closure of the bridge along the Headwaters Trail. Please see the attachment below for a map.
